The laser engraving gives a beautiful sensory aspect to each card, allowing your child can trace each digit with their finger, committing to memory their unique shapes ready for replication in handwriting, while the dots are engraved deeply enough to enable your child to place in them loose parts, such as dry beans or pom-poms, to concretely feel the difference between each number.
